A foggy summer afternoon near the Olympic National Park. This photo was taken en-route to a hike into the park's Royal Basin, starting from Sequim.
Sequim is a little town in western Washington along the Olympic Peninsula. It averages about 16 inches of rain a year; Mt Olympus, a little ways off, gets 220 inches a year. I don't know how I would fare in weather like that, especially in the winter, but on this summer day it was beautiful. A quiet immense fog shrouded the whole place and you could hear tiny rain drops in the distance - almost magical.
