Winter in Oregon's only national park: Crater Lake National Park.
This photo was taken on a cold February morning. It was a rare sunny day; often, visitors to the park seldom get a glimpse of the lake as it's shrouded in clouds, but we got lucky this morning. We slept in our car the night before and it was one of the coldest nights I've spent outside. I remember that the entrance to the nearby restroom had a heated hallway that was kept warm all day and night long.
It's hard to tell in this photo where the lake ends and where the sky begins. Crater lake is the deepest lake in the country and one of the most clearest. It is a magical experience to be there in the winter, when things are slower and quieter.
